Since its initial inception in 1892, the City of Nashville has grown throughout the years to meet the changing needs of its citizens. Nashville's government consists of six Council Members and the Mayor. The Mayor and Council serve two year terms and election years are staggered to maintain a sense of continuity in the city's administration. The City of Nashville currently uses the Council-City Manager form of government. The City of Nashville is the only government in Berrien County that uses this form of government. In an effort to help revitalize Nashville, the City of Nashville created a Better Hometown Committee in 2003. Since then, downtown Nashville has been recreated and excitement fills the air. Nashville is a wonderful example of small town revitalization at its best. |
